Jake got to meet his Grandma Sue this past week when she came for a visit. He showed of his good looks and kept practicing being adoroable.

The week had it's share of excitement - Kayla came down with strep throat. Then a couple of days later Daddy got sick but not with strep. A couple of days after that Kayla got a fever again and got what Daddy had. It turns out it's swine flu. Luckily neither Bobbie, Jacob or Grandma Sue got strep or the flu. Hopefully we have all the sickness for the next year covered and we can all be healthy from now on.

Jake is now 12 days old. He's still a good sleeper but is becoming more alert during the day.
This past Monday, he had his first visit to the pediatrician and passed his first checkup with flying colors. When he was discharged from the hospital the previous Friday, he weighed 6 lbs, 14 oz. But, he was up to 7 lbs 3 oz Monday. Plus, his color looked so good the doc didn't even test his bilirubin levels (for jaundice).

All of us got to come home from the hospital Friday afternoon. It's good to be home! Luckily, Jacob's bilirubin level only got to 10.5 on Friday, which isn't great, but isn't bad enough to need the lights. We can do some sunlight therapy at home.

The first picture is from Sunday - he's 5 days old.

Next is nana reading the comics to Kayla and Jacob on Sunday morning.

Here's a picture of poppop and Jacob when he visited him in the hospital.

Luckily we made it home in time for trick-or-treat. Jacob's sister made a great Dorothy and was out nearly the whole 2 hours trick-or-treating with her best friends. That's more candy for Daddy!
